WELCOME TO MY 7 SUMMIT CHALLENGE

WELCOME TO MY 7 SUMMIT CHALLENGE

Please donate and help me raise money for a different charity for each summit completed.

“Its not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.”
–Sir Edmund Hillary

My Story

A dream of mine is to climb the 7 summits and Kilimanjaro is the first step of that journey. I have many ambitions to raise money for various charites, this years is East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice. I have, over last year or so, been battling my own demons with depression and now I’m coming through the other side, I want to get back to what I love, which is adventuring and charity work. I realise how fortunate I am and how difficult it must be for these children and their families and also the amazing work the hospices do, so I want to give back and show we all have our own mountains to climb.
I will be posting training videos, diets and even the actual climb as well as social media updates. So if you would like to support such a amazing charity please donate.

Dear Joe,

The best of luck for your amazing Challenge.

My First Challenge

My first summit to climb will be the monstorous KILIMANJARO.

Peaking at 5895 metres / 19340 feet at the summit, this will be a great first time climb, setting me up for more challenging climbs in the future.

This will be taking place in September 2019

The Outcome

  • Help multiple charities that need support and raise in excess of £100,000
  • ...
  • Achieve my lifetime ambition and be good role model to my son.
  • ...
  • Show everyone with mental health no matter what background and even close to suicide we all have our own mountains to climb but there is always another route.

Why I Decided To Do This?

  • Born without knowing my dad and to a alcoholic mother suffered neglect and physical and mental abuse.
  • My mum was diagnosed with leukaemia when i was 7 i looked after her till i was 14 when she died in 2001.
  • 3 brothers one committed suicide in 2017 after being in and out of prison and drug addiction problems
  • I too suffered with severe depression in 2018 and contemplated my own suicide only thing that saved me was my son Charlie and few good friends.

I decided I had 3 choices.
Either kill myself and destroy many more lives and continue the cycle.
Stay living in a constant depressive cycle.
Or do something I always dreamed of when I was going through tough times as a child.

SO NOW MY JOURNEY BEGINS
